Julie Gyftoula and Yngyang Hwang met at the Mansfield Center at the University of Montana, Missoula in 2019 as participants in the SUSI 2019 program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. On completion of the 5-week long course on American History and Culture they were eligible for applying for a mini grant so that a joint project idea could be implemented when both back at their schools.

SUSI Educators: Small Grant Application procedure

Participants were encouraged to propose a project and budget within program themes using lessons learned during the Institute. If the project was sufficiently detailed and had a reasonable expectation of success, those with the top applications would be awarded an amount to be determined based on funding requests and competing awards.
Only one application should be submitted per participant for individual proposals or one application per project for joint proposals.
Projects must be completed by June 30, 2020.

This is how the project "American Library on wheels" came to life and a bridge between Greece and South Korea is built. We will be happy to receive your feedback on whatever you see published on our project site.
